In-House Capabilities

nti's manufacturing room One of nti's test suites

NTI has a wide range of engineering design and test capabilities to guarantee final product quality, performance and delivery schedule.
Engineering design facilities include sophisticated charged particle computer modeling, which incorporates the ability to handle space charge limited problems, in addition to computer aided design software (CAD) for precision component design.
We have a small but fully functional machine shop with precision milling and center lathe fabrication equipment for both proto-typing and product manufacture. All machined components are thoroughly chemically and ultra-sonically cleaned and rinsed in multi-step processes prior to assembly in our clean assembly room (see above left). Electrical insulators are grit blasted prior to chemical cleaning to ensure removal of even the most difficult to remove contaminants.
Product quality, performance, inspection and testing amenities include optical inspection microscopes, a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and also various UHV final test and development stations (see below and above right). Prior to carrying out final systems testing all vacuum assemblies intended to operate at high voltage undergo high voltage conditioning and breakdown integrity testing.
The nti team has many years of collective vacuum physics design, development and applications experience which include the following areas:
  • Electron and ion optical equipment including ion and electron guns, micro-focus X-ray tubes, e beam inspection equipment, CRT's etc.
  • X-ray targets, thin film and refractory metals
  • Surface analytical instrumentation e.g. AES, ESCA and SIMS
